2018 Winter Olympics sports calendar: Snowboarding

Snowboarding at the 2018 Winter Olympics will feature five men’s events and five women’s events.

Parallel giant slalom requires two athletes to start simultaneously on two courses, which are installed in parallel. The athlete who goes down faster wins.

Half Moon is an event where athletes perform jumps, rotations and spins in the air as they slide down a semi-circular ramp.

Snowboard Cross involves teams of four to six athletes racing down an organized course with various terrain structures such as banks, rollers, thorns and jumps. The classification is decided by the order of crossing the finish line.

In Outdoors, competitors snowboard down a hill and perform tricks after throwing big jumps.

Slopestyle takes place on an organized course with rails, tables, boxes, walls and jumping mats. Athletes can select the items they want to play with.

The Games will be broadcast on NBC, NBCSN and the NBC Universal networks. Each Olympic event will be available to stream live and on demand on NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports app.
