UFC 263 – Adesanya vs. Vettori

It’s a hit night in the Octagon on Saturday night as BT Sport brings you a packed UFC map with Israel Adesanya’s middleweight title fight against Marvin Vettori headlining.

UFC 263 will see Adesanya return to action for the first time since losing to Jan Blachowicz in a lightweight bout at UFC 259.

Adesanya’s hopes of claiming the crown in two weight divisions have been scrapped by Blachowicz, but now he must return to his middleweight duties and put the first loss of his career firmly in the rearview mirror.

His next opponent is a man he knows too well to have beaten Vettori in a split decision victory in April 2018. It was Vettori’s second loss in four fights (with a draw also included), but The Italian Dream has won five straight victories since to propel itself into title territory.

Guided by legendary MMA coach Rafael Cordeiro, Vettori is a new man and has seen top contenders Jack Hermansson and Kevin Holland en route to his rematch with Adesanya.

Now, on Saturday night in Arizona, Vettori can become the first Italian to win a UFC title if he reverses the odds.

“When I wake up in the morning, I just wanna fuck up the day,” was Vettori’s verdict on her latest workout regimes. Now he has the chance to do just that and inflict Adesanya’s second career loss to Glendale.

Elsewhere, there’s some tasty action from the flyweight division where Deiveson Figuerido and Brandon Moreno prepare for a rematch with the 125-pound title up for grabs.

And there’s also the UK interest where Leon Edwards offers to cement his No.1 contender status for welterweight contender against veteran Nate Diaz.

Gallagher Premiership – Day 22

Harlequins vs. Newcastle Falcons

Bath v Northampton Saints

Bristol Bears v London Irish

Harlequins vs. Newcastle Falcons

Bath v Northampton Saints

We have reached the pinnacle of the national rugby calendar as BT Sport brings you the final round of Gallagher First Division games on Saturday afternoon with still a lot to play.

There is a place in the next season Champions Cup to win as Bath try to hang on to eighth place when they face Saints of Northampton as they seek to secure a place in next season’s top club competition.

But breathing down their necks is Irish from London and Newcastle, which are one and three points behind Bath, respectively. Surprise packages The Irish are absent at the top of the table Bristol bears while the hawks visit Harlequins in what promises to be a close battle for the last remaining place in the Champions Cup.

Elsewhere there is a lot of interest at the top with the top spot still up for grabs as the defending champions Exeter hope to improve Bristol’s result against the London Irish when they host Sharks Sale.

Still, Sale has a lot at stake with a home semi-final potentially up for grabs if they win against the Chiefs and the results turn out their way.

wasps play host to Leicester Tigers in the latest clash with both sides looking nervously over their shoulders London Irish and Newcastle. The other device – Gloucester v Worcester – was canceled due to last week’s Covid-19 outbreak in the Cherry-and-Whites camp.

Semi-finals of the National League play-offs

A place in League 2 is up for grabs as BT Sport prepares for another round of National League play-offs to determine who will advance to the final on Sunday, June 20.

The first standing Torquay play host to Notts County Saturday midday as the two former Football League sides try to keep their promotion dreams alive as they advance to the final.

Notts County was indebted to a last-minute goal from Mark Ellis as he came out of his clash against Chesterfield last weekend via a 3-2 thriller to seal a clash with – who finished second in the regular season .

Torquay, who missed the automatic promotion by four points behind Sutton, will need to dust himself off and be at his best at Plainmoor.

While they finished 10 points behind Torquay in the table, Notts County have had draws in their two regular-season clashes, so this one promises to be a close clash in Devon.

After finding out who will take first place at Wembley, we turn our attention to Greater Manchester where Stockport play host to Hartlepool Sunday noon.

County finished one point ahead of the Monkey Hangers in the regular season and found themselves on the wrong side of a Pool beat when they lost 4-0 at Victoria Park in December – although they did. 1-1 draw at home.

Hartlepool edged out another exciting clash between the Eliminators when three opening goals saw them through despite Bromley firing back with two of their own to ensure a nervous finish.

All of this leads to a tantalizing encounter at Edgeley Park as the county attempts to end a 10-year exile of the First Four Divisions by climbing the Fifth Level.

And much more…

As if UFC 263, the Gallagher Premiership, and the National League weren’t enough, BT Sport has a lot more premium sporting action to enjoy this weekend.

For those who love their Down Under sport, we have three Aussie Rules matches from the Australian Football League the whole weekend. The first test match between the West Indies and South Africa also continues in Saint Lucia.

Also there are WWE Friday Night SmackDown, action from the FIH Pro Hockey League, the NHL and Major League Baseball matches from Friday to Sunday.
